I have used verses for years in my journey to a stronger, deeper relationship with Christ.  As a matter of fact, I would like to tell my story through scripture….

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  This scripture saved my life in my late 20’s. A friend gave me this bible verse on a small wallet card.  It gave me so much hope when I first read it!  The simple thought that God cared about my future and had a plan for ME?  Wow, that was something new.  I read this verse often…daily.  Eventually, I memorized the verse, and late at night I would recite it to find peace and rest in a world of utter chaos, confusion, and disappointment.

As I began my journey toward God, the next verse He used in my life was, Jeremiah 29:13 “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”  I wanted to seek God with all my heart, but I didn’t know how.  I didn’t have much heart left…only what the World had thrown back to me. I wrote this verse on my bathroom mirror with a dry-erase marker as a daily reminder.  It became a “breath” prayer for me as I tried to seek God throughout my days and in all circumstances.  I was seeking Him in the midst of my confusion and heartache to show me a way out of the pain.  God was providing that way for me…verse by verse.    more...
